Winetta was also an adjunct professor for Jackson-Madison County School Graduate College.

She was a committed vocalist who relished the opportunity to share her sensational talents.
Winetta met Danny Tassin when she was 16 years old and they shared a special bond from a very young age. Even though their life’s journey took them in different directions, they reconnected after 23 years when Danny graduated from college and made his way back to Tennessee. On November 12, 1994, Winetta joined Danny in marriage and they spent 26 joyful years together. Winetta treasured Danny and Danny adored Winetta.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Danny Tassin; three brothers, Denny Dukes of Knoxville, TN, Steven Dukes of Denver, CO, and Tim Dukes of Charlotte, NC; as well as many other friends and neighbors who will also mourn her passing.
