Funeral services for Bill Emery, 71, will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Dan Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery with Military Honors.Mr. Emery died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.He was born August 15, 1939 in Chattanooga, TN the son of the late William and Flora Carter Emery. Bill retired after 30 years in the Marines as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a Master Mason with membership at St. Johns Lodge # 332, 33rd Degree Mason, Member of the Memphis Scottish Rite, Al Chymia Shrine Temple, Royal Order of Jesters Court # 130 and Order of Quetzalcotatl. He also retired from his home health care business, ExtendaCare.Bill is survived by his wife Iris, of 47 years, of Jackson, TN, one son John Emery and wife Lilibeth of Cordova, TN, one daughter Lisa Hanna of Jackson, TN, one sister Linda Card, two grandchildren, Sadie Hanna and Sarah Hanna.Those serving as pallbearers will be Gary Poole, Sam Hall, James ?Bubba? Mathis, Van Parker, Bill Preslar and H.N. ?Hot? Elkins.The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to Shriner?s Crippled Children?s Hospital, c/o Al Chymia Shrine Center, 5770 Shelby Oaks Dr., Memphis, TN 38134.The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 5:00PM ? 7:00PM at the funeral home.Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W.
