William "Bill" Haynes

William E. “Bill” Haynes, Jr., age 83, entered his eternal rest at his residence Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Born in Jackson, TN, on June 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Mildred and William Haynes, Sr.
Graduating from Jackson High School in 1957, Bill was a member of the Golden Bears basketball team for four years and served as president of his senior class. He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in business.

His first job after college was working in sales with IBM. He later owned and operated Haynes Distributing Company, a multi-brand beer distributorship serving Jackson and ten surrounding counties.
Serving on various bank boards, he was a charter member and founding Chairman of the Bank of Jackson. A kind and generous man, Bill was a Christian in faith and attended Fellowship Bible Church. He loved boating on Pickwick Lake with his family and friends.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother-in-law, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deloria; sons, Billy Haynes (Christian) of Jackson, TN and Brad Haynes (Sally) of Germantown, TN; 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Mary, Micah, Millie Grace and Tybi; and great-grandson Teddy.
SERVICE: The family will be receiving friends at Arrington Funeral Directors on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. A private family burial will occur at a later date.
