Tony Woods was born in Humphreys County, Tennessee on May 3, 1940, to Ed and Marie Woods, spending most of his life in the Humboldt/Jackson area.
He worked hard all of his life, and many times, working more than one job at a time. His primary employment was a sales route position with Colonial Baking Company. After his retirement, he worked 10 years for Tire Distributors in Humboldt.
Tony was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord. As a deacon at Campbell Street church of Christ, he worked as a servant helping the elder members. He had a tender heart and quietly helped many.
An avid NASCAR fan, Tony enjoyed pulling for Dale Earnhardt. He loved adventure and rode four-wheelers in the mountains of East Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia, easily keeping up with his dear friends that were half his age.
To forever cherish his memory, Tony is survived by his wife of 28 years of marriage, Ann; daughter, Kim Cupples and husband Bill; son, Freddy Woods and wife Diana; stepsons, Steve Taylor and wife Melissa, and Mitch Taylor and wife Amy; stepdaughter, Janet Webb and husband Ty; brother, Larry Woods wife Sandra of Gibson, TN, sisters, Helen Moore of Humboldt, TN, Barbara Mitchell of Camden, TN and Claudine Lovett of Dickson, TN; grandchildren, Ashleigh Woods, Brandy Dexter, Taylor Cupples, Aaron Webb, Andrew Webb, Sarah Webb Cole, Madison Taylor Merritt, Morgan Taylor Gaither, Emery Taylor, and Hudson Taylor, and great-grandchildren, Dillion Gordon and Taylor Gordon.
He was predeceased in death by a sister, Wilma Taylor of Milan, TN.
Tony was a sweet caring man who positively touched the lives of so many people. He was truly a great, humble, and selfless man that will be greatly missed.
