Thomas "Louie" Adams, age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday November 25, 2024, at the Christian Care Center of Medina, with his loving family by his side.

Born on July 15, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, Louie's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to education, family, and his many hobbies.

Louie had a fulfilling career as a Special Education Teacher within the Jackson-Madison County School System. He also taught in the Brownsville, TN area as well as at a group home in Fairbanks, AK. His commitment to nurturing and supporting his students left an indelible mark on their lives, further underscoring his passion for education and advocacy. 

An esteemed alumnus, Louie held a master's degree from Lee University, showcasing his dedication to lifelong learning and improvement. Beyond his professional endeavors, he found joy in music, often playing the organ and singing gospel tunes that reflected his deep-rooted faith and love for the arts. He was also an avid reader, with a profound appreciation for literature that allowed him to explore countless worlds through the pages of a good book. 

Louie’s family was of utmost importance to him. He took immense pride in his grandchildren, Connor and Harley, who brought him joy through their involvements in theater performances and softball activities. His love and support for their pursuits will always be cherished by those who had the pleasure of witnessing it. 

He is survived by his son, Thomas "Tom" Adams and his wife Rachel; grandchildren Connor and Harley Adams; brothers James "Jimmy," Earl "Gene," and Paul Adams; and sisters Mona Mae Adams Collins and Pamela "Cricket" Adams Collins. Louie's legacy of love and devotion will live on in their memories. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Willie Mae Soper Adams, his wife, Sandra Faye Prater Adams, his son, James Reginald Adams, and his brother, Terry Adams. Each of these individuals held a special place in Louie's heart, and their memories will continue to shine through the stories shared by his loved ones. 

A Memorial Gathering and Service in honor of Louie's life will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at HomeLife Academy located at 3563 N. Highland, Jackson, TN. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Louie's life with a memorial gathering beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. 

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the Homeschool CARE Foundation online at www.homeschoolcare.org.
