Thelma E. James, age 80, died peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023, at American House of Jackson, TN.
A native of Trenton, TN, Thelma was one of fourteen children born to the late Clyde and Lillian Dean Elliott on March 1, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Edward James.
She was retired from the Jackson-Madison County Health Department as a receptionist. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, before her health declined and could not attend regularly. Thelma had a love of travel and enjoyed many trips around the U.S. as well as Canada and Europe.
She is survived by her children, Greg James of Jackson, TN and Amy James Bauer and husband Phil of Atlanta, GA; siblings, Margie Fly (Felix) of Milan, Linda Tilly (Eric), Lisa Morgan (Kevin), Rube Elliott (Iris) of Trenton, TN, James Elliott (Gail), John Elliott (Pam), David Elliott, Mike Elliott (Rita)and Butch Elliott all of Trenton, TN and three grandchildren, Olivia and Ella Bauer and Colton James.
SERVICES: A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2022, at Oakland Cemetery in Trenton, TN.
