Steve Brasfield, 53, died at his Jackson residence on Tuesday morning after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Memphis, TN on April 2, 1960, the son of James and Imogene Brasfield.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Devilbiss as a welder. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson and a member of the American Legion Post 90 of Jackson, TN.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Penny Siler Brasfield of Jackson, TN; his children, Tyler Brasfield and Megan Brasfield both of Jackson, TN and Stephen Neal Brasfield, Jr and fiancé Kayla Bomar and Jonathan Brasfield all of McKenzie, TN; his parents, James and Imogene Brasfield of Jackson, TN; his grandchildren, Alison, Haley and Hunter Brasfield; his sister, Sharon Grisham and husband Daniel of McKenzie, TN; His mother-in-law, Peggy Siler of Henderson, TN; brother-in-law, Ted Siler and wife Amy of Henderson, TN and Steve Siler of Lexington, SC and a sister-in-law, Jennifer Siler of Henderson, TN; nephews, Trevor, Nathan, Brian and nieces, Angela, Ashleigh and Kayley and a special friend to the family, Stephanie Drews.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2013 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Ted Siler, Steve Siler, Tommy White, Chris Owens, Dalton Bartley and Brian Grisham.
The family is requesting memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2935 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305.
