Shirley Ann Morgan peacefully entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Christian Care Center of Medina, TN.
She was born on August 3, 1940, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Charley Mack and Lessie Olivia Dale Chappell Stepp.
Shirley Ann dedicated her career to the Port of Houston Authority in Houston, TX, where she worked as a Data Processing Clerk. After 37 years of service to the organization, she retired and moved to Tennessee in 2005. Shirley Ann's commitment and hard work made a lasting impact on her colleagues and friends.
Outside of work, Shirley Ann had many passions that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an avid reader who found solace in the pages of books. Additionally, she was an active member of the Ladies Prayer group at Lighthouse Church and served as the Church Hostess there. Her dedication to her faith and community was evident in her involvement with these activities. Shirley Ann will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many with her compassion and generosity.
Shirley Ann is survived by her nieces, Clara Costolo, Mary Alice Anderson (Curtis), Suzanne Perkins (John), Robbie Mathes and Linda Vantreese her long-term caregiver along with numerous other family members including four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Conrad Morgan; her son Michael Thomas Moon; her stepdaughter Susan Jane Morgan Spangler; seven brothers and four sisters.
SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Arrington Funeral Directors beginning at 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Donald Lance of Lighthouse Church officiating. A private burial will take place in the Harton Family Cemetery.
