Sherry Delores Moore

Sherry Delores Moore peacefully departed this world on February 9, 2025, in her home in Jackson, TN, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 20, 1943, in the same cherished town, Sherry lived a life that was a testament to devotion, hard work, and the beauty of family connections.

For nearly fifty years, Sherry dedicated herself to her career at a local cleaners business, where she took on the role of manager, performing a myriad of tasks with grace and diligence. Her commitment to her job reflected her unwavering work ethic and her ability to excel in every task she undertook. Sherry's colleagues admired her multifaceted skills and the infectious spirit she brought to the workplace.

Beyond her professional life, Sherry was a woman of simple pleasures and sweet indulgences. She took delight in the laughter of her grandchildren, who would often reminisce about their trips to the grocery store to grab her favorite Cokes and cupcakes. Those moments, filled with joy and life, encapsulated Sherry's love for sweets and the happiness they brought her, enhancing the bonds shared with her loved ones.

A true romantic at heart, Sherry found joy in the timeless stories woven into Hallmark movies, often finding a cozy spot to watch her favorites. Alongside her late husband, Eddie, she cultivated a passion for the enchanting melodies of Elvis Presley, music that filled their home with warmth and memories. Together, they created a legacy infused with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the moments that mattered.

Sherry's family stood as her proudest accomplishment—her loyalty and dedication shone bright in everything she did. Her nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love shaped the lives of those around her, an invaluable gift bestowed upon her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter-in-law, Anissa Moore; grandchildren, Tyler Moore (Leslie Fox), Justin Moore (Colbie), and Colby Moore; and siblings, Joy Thedford, Parker Surratt, Mackie Surratt (Darlene), Randy Surratt (Judy), Gary Surratt, and Greg Surratt (Tammy).  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie R. Moore; son, Eddie Moore; parents, R.P. and Dorothy Surratt; and brother, Phillip Surratt. 

There will be a private family burial.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org/give.
