Ruth Bowman Hill, age 100, entered her heavenly home on March 8, 2022, from her Jackson residence, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Tennessee Hospice.
She was born on January 3, 1922, in Lexington, TN the daughter of the late John T. and Polly Ann Garner Bowman. She married to Donald L. Hill who preceded her in death in 2003. She was a retired waitress and homemaker, who enjoyed thrifting and always looking for a bargain. Ruth was a 25 year plus member of Lighthouse Church, where she enjoyed being with her church family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and any sporting event that her grandchildren were involved with. She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband.
Ruth is survived by a son, Paul David Hill and his wife Becky of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Donna Jean Bowlby of Clearwater, FL; special nephews, Larry Brockman, and Ronnie Brockman and his wife Wanda and their two children, Meredith and Sarah Claire of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren, Cory Hill (Kara), Charlie Hill (Shelley), Kacy Hill, Scott Pearson (Lara), Rachel Hill, Christian Hill and Sara Saddler (Bryan); and twelve great grandchildren, Rob Hill, Ben Hill, Baylee Hill, Jackson Hill, Mia Hill, Foster Pearson, Fulton Pearson, Emery Saddler, Aubrey Saddler, Caleb Hill and Easton and Alden.
Along with her parents and husband Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Don Hill; daughters, Gayla and Gina Hill, and eight siblings.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Lighthouse Church, 1435 Old Humboldt Road, Jackson, TN 38305 with Rev. Bryan Saddler officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Highland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Lance officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hill, Christian Hill, Cory Hill, Scott Pearson, Grant Robbins, and Larry West.
