Royce Dale Broadway
Funeral services for Royce Dale Broadway, age 62, will be at 3pm Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Ron Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
Royce died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Lexington, TN on March 30, 1951 the son of Roger and Alma Rogers Broadway.
He lived most of his life in Jackson, TN and attended North Side High School. He enjoyed being involved in music and played lead trumpet all throughout high school. He was also in a garage band called “The Blue Condition.” He proudly served in the National Guard from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1976. Royce was employed at ICG Railroad for 13 years. From there he went on to work for Roadway Express Memphis, TN where he retired in 2006. After his retirement he stayed active in the family business Broadway & Sons Trucking.
He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Deborah Kay Turner Broadway of Jackson, TN; his mother Alma Rogers Broadway of Beech Bluff, TN; two sons, Jason Broadway and wife Kelly of Bells, TN; Wesley Broadway of Jackson, TN; one brother, Wendell Broadway of Beech Bluff, TN; two sisters, Gail Johnson and husband Randy of Knoxville, TN; Janice Miller and husband Bill of Jackson, TN; three grandchildren, Brittany Broadway, Jacob Broadway and Aaron Broadway.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
