Rosetta Ditto Hollowell, age 81, passed from this life peacefully on September 12, 2018. She was at home surrounded by her husband, daughter, sons, grand children, family and friends. She was born on August 8, 1937 in Mississippi County, Missouri. Rosetta is preceded in death by her father Alfred Carol Ditto, her mother Ettis Taylor Ditto and her brother Johnny Wayne Ditto. She is survived by her husband James E. Hollowell, sister Vera Marcum (husband Ray), daughter Stephanie Kriese Johnson (husband David) in Jackson, TN. son Steve Kriese (wife Kathy) in Tunica, MS, son Ronnie Hollowell (wife Leslie) in Memphis, TN, step-daughter Sharon Hollowell in Raleigh NC, five grand children—Natalie Johnson Hall (husband Aaron), Jon David Johnson (wife Madelyne), Hudson Hollowell, Ariane Bogdanski (husband Chris) and Brian Cox, one great grandson Coy David Johnson, and one great granddaughter Sydney Grace Hall who is due to join this world in October.
Rosetta grew up in the farmlands of the Missouri Boothill and moved to Memphis, TN where she worked as VP and interior decorator for Southern Bank Building Inc. Rosetta and her husband Jim Hollowell were married November 2, 1972 She was active in SkyView Baptist Church and Broadmore Baptist Church in Memphis, where she was a member of the choir. After retirement, she and her husband Jim moved to Pickwick, TN where they enjoyed life at the lake. While in Pickwick, Rosetta was a beloved member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she sang regularly in the choir. After moving to Jackson, TN, Rosetta was an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church. Rosetta was a loving wife, mother, and Nana, with a contagious joy for life and generous spirit. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand children. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She leaves many fond memories with all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Together, we celebrate her life, resting assured that she has left this worldly home to live eternally in Heaven.

SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon with a Funeral Service following at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Randy Isbell and Rev. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
