Ronnie Wayne Horn, known to his family and friends as Ron, departed this life on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the age of 62. He was born on November 29, 1960, in Jackson, TN to Dwayne and Mary Horn.
Widely recognized for his big smile and constant photobombs, Ron loved to make others laugh. He continuously went out of his way to spread joy and laughter to everyone he came into contact with.
Ron always put his family first and he was happiest when he was surrounded by his large, blended family. He was a devoted father and grandfather, doting and bragging about his kids and grandson whenever he got the chance.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Veronica Gail Horn; son, Jordan Horn (Ashley); and stepchildren, Dean McMurry (Anielka) and Jake McMurry (Erin). He also leaves one grandson, Tristan McMurry, and many more extended family members.
Ron had a passion for the outdoors, specifically gardening. He spent a great deal of his time planting flowers with his wife, Gail, and mother, Mary. When his flowers were in bloom, Ron loved to take photos to share their beauty.
His passion for the outdoors also spread into his travels. Over the years, Ron and Gail took many trips to his favorite place, the Great Smokey Mountains, even getting married there in 2000 at Cupid’s Chapel of Love.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private committal service will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, as this charity was near to Ron’s heart. Throughout the last several years, he donated to St. Jude regularly, in hopes of helping children in need.
