Robert Wesley Moore, age 76, died Thursday January 26th at Northbrook Healthcare. He was born August 15, 1940 to the parents of Frank and Dovie Yarbrough Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Alice (Graves) Moore, a son, Eddie and Janie Moore of Lexington; a daughter, Karen and Kenneth Taylor of Oakfield, three grandchildren, Ryan and Angela Moore of Little Rock, AR; Drew Moore and special friend Allison East of Jackson; and Jordan Taylor of Oakfield; and one great-grandchild, Olivia Grace Moore of Little Rock, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
Robert attended school at Oakfield Elementary and North Side High School. He worked early in life driving delivery trucks for Pepsi Cola, Midsouth Transport and then Yellow Freight System. Later in life he started Robert Moore Construction Dozer and Backhoe Services. During the 1990's Robert and Mary Alice owned and operated M&M One Stop on Christmasville Road in the Oakfield Community.
Robert was a faithful active member and Deacon at Oakfield Baptist Church and North Jackson Baptist Church and later an active member at West Jackson Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, gospel music and his church family.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Oakfield Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be Eddie Moore, Kenneth Taylor, Ryan Moore, Drew Moore, Charles Carr and Travis Smith
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Heart Association, The Alzheimer’s Association or the Carl Perkins Center for Prevention of Child Abuse.
