Robert Eugene "Dude" Honen

Robert Eugene “Dude” Honen, age 91, died on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Jackson, TN, Robert was born on March 27, 1926, the son for the late James Arthur and Edna Earl Harris Honen.
He was married to Ida Lucille Honen who preceded him in death in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired forty years employee of American Olean Tile as a mechanic/technician. He later was employed with Maxxguard for fifteen years. He loved working in his yard and going fishing. One of his pastime passions was bowling.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Ridley and husband Barry of Jackson, TN, Freida “Kay” Greenway and husband Randy of Pinson, TN, Jimmy Honen and wife Jennifer of Jackson, TN and Michael Wayne Honen and wife Mariana of Oman; a brother, Paul Vayton Honen of Sikeston, MO; grandchildren, Crystal Ridley Harris and husband Joey, Christian Shane Tucker and wife Carla, Angel Tucker, Stephanie Mair and husband Brandon, David Greenway and wife Melody, Scott Honen and Chad Honen; eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Ridley.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Curtis Howard officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, July 22 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the Kirkland Cancer Center, 620 Skyline Drive, Jackson, TN 38301.
