Robert Guy Ferguson

Robert "Bob" Guy Ferguson, a beloved family man passed away at his home in Henderson, TN on December 3, 2023. He was 75 years old.

Born on July 1, 1948, in Jackson, TN, Robert was the loving son of Danny Guy and Emma Ferguson. He grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Bob moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the FBI, the Metropolitan Police Department, and Prince George’s County Police Department.  While in Washington he continued his education at American University in Washington D.C., where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.   Years later he would move his family back to his hometown, Jackson.

Bob retired as a Frontier Independent Insurance Adjustor. His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of both colleagues and clients throughout his many years of service in the field. He approached his work with integrity and compassion.

Outside of his professional life, Bob had a vibrant personality that drew people to him. He was a tremendous family man who deeply cherished his wife Brenda. Together, they were married 52 years and shared a bond that was unbreakable.

Few knew music was a true passion for Bob. In his spare time, he taught himself to play guitar, piano, and violin, displaying an innate talent for each instrument. His musical abilities brought joy not only to himself but also to those fortunate enough to hear him perform.  Bob also enjoyed raising cows and chickens.

As a member of West Jackson Baptist Church, Bob actively participated in the choir, and for a number of years dedicated himself to serving in the Exceptional Sunday School Class.  His presence within the church community showcased his compassionate nature and willingness to help others.

Alongside his wife, Brenda, he is survived by his son, Marcus (Cindy) Ferguson, his daughter Teri (Andrew) Long, and seven grandchildren--Sam Ferguson, Seth Ferguson, Reed Crocker, Lilli-Grace Crocker, Drew Long, Maggie Long, and Hannah Hill.  He is also survived by his sister, Dee Ann Turner and her husband Dale.
