Robert E. Edwards entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children, at the age of 74.
Born on February 17, 1949, at the former Webb-Williamson Hospital in Jackson, TN, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Marilyn Hardin Edwards. He retired as a technician from A. O. Smith in Milan, TN and he and his wife were members of First Baptist Church of Jackson.
Robert “loved” the outdoors, especially hunting with his son and hunting buddies. He was known to have said “that he would rather turkey hunt than eat” but he also enjoyed deer hunting. Other hobbies he had were reading a good book, watching westerns, and listening to a variety of music, mainly gospel and country.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Thompson Edwards of Jackson, TN; his son, Brad Edwards of Jackson, TN; his daughter, Amie Lynn Smith and her husband Ben of Humboldt, TN; a brother, Billy Joe Edwards of Brownsville, TN; three grandchildren, Cody Edwards, Jordan Edwards, and Ava Brinkley Smith; one great grandchild, and his grand dog, Tucker.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Lyons.
SERVICES: The funeral service for Robert will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Joe Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers to serve will be Phil Hardin, Adam Lambert, Jerry Lambert, Matthew Lambert, and Ben Smith.
