Born on Monday, July 27, 1953, in Beatrice, NE, he was the son of the late Richard and Rita Marie Morio Longeway.
Dart attended Roosevelt Military Academy, Iowa Wesleyan University, where he played football and Mount Mercy College where he completed his bachelor's degree in business. He worked at Clancy's Men's Apparel in Cedar Rapids, IA, and at Cargill Inc. as a grain merchant.
He started ChemLawn in Jackson, TN, then ventured out on his own with Dart's Lawn Care. Following that success, he built Chip Shot Driving Range and Par 3 course in Three Way, TN. In 1999, Dart began managing Sculley's Golf Course. He hosted the First Tee Organization for young golfers to learn about the fundamentals of golf, allowing them to experience the game of golf. His course also hosted tournaments for breast cancer, pet rescue, and memorial tournaments for the Elks Organization and fallen friends. He also provided his driving range and course for schools and local colleges for practice and tournaments. An animal lover, he provided housing and fed many stray dogs and cats at the course. Dart always loved golf and helping anyone in need.
Other than his parents, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law’s late husband, Norman Harmon.
