Rebecca Smith Lake (or Becky as she was affectionately known), entered her heavenly home on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, at the age of 78.
She was born the daughter of the late Warren Smith, Jr. and Augusta Woodliff Smith on June 21, 1944, in Gadsden, AL. She married the love of her life, David Lake, Jr., sharing over fifty years together.
Her career began with Fidelity Federal and Union Planters Bank. She later served as the manager of Pastoral Care with West Tennessee Healthcare for fifteen years. Becky was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church, where she and David were active in the Legacy Sunday school class. Her spiritual life was vital to her everyday life, as she would spend time daily in Bible study.
Christmas was a favorite time of the year for Becky, as she enjoyed cooking for her family and preparing each child their favorite foods, plus making chocolate covered pretzels. She has a passion for all animals, having raised horses, cows and even a Vietnamese Pot-bellied pig.
She is survived by her husband, David Lake, Jr. of Jackson, TN; children, Deborah Ivar and husband Alan of Nashville, TN, Alan Glover of Forney, Texas, Matthew Warren and fiancé Crystal Bunch of Dalton, GA , David Lake, III and wife Mary Lou of Columbus, MS, Katheryn Ann Martin of Brookhaven, MS, Charles Lake of Hernando, MS, Bill Lake and wife Sharon of Bremerton, WA; brother, Warren Smith and wife Cathy of Reno, NV; twelve grandchildren, Alexandra, Dylan, Briana, Nicole, Faith, Taylor, Lindsey, Wesley, Mallory, Marshall, Amy and A.J., and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Scott Bloodworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at 10 a.m.
