Randy Joe Nipp left this earth and entered his heavenly home on August 4, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his wife of twenty years, Rebecca Nipp; his mother, Patsy Blakemore; his brother, Timothy (Carolyn) Nipp; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Booker; his sister-in-law, Deborah (David) Elston; brother-in-law; Michael (Elsie) Booker; nephews, Andrew (Laura) Nipp, Landon Nipp, Luke (Julie) Sanderson and Justin (Wendy) Booker; nieces, Emily (Grant) Taylor and Brandy Elston; great nephews, Aaron Nipp, Austin Nipp, Jackson Booker and a great niece, Lulu Booker.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Morris Blakemore, grandparents, Jay and Opal Kersey and T.C and Gladys Nipp.
Randy was born on July 20, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, MO. He graduated from Union City High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Randy worked for Jackson Energy Authority “JEA” for thirty-five years, retiring in 2016 as Senior Vice President of the Gas Division. During his career with JEA, he served a term as President of the Tennessee Gas Association and was presented with the Silver Flame Award in 2015. His greatest accomplishment, however, was the day he gave his life to The Lord on June 17, 2010. He was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church and a member of the Faithwalk Community. He loved The Lord, his wife, his family, his friends, riding his Harley motorcycle and traveling. He will be terribly missed by those who know and loved him.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Mark McSwaim and Rev. Tim Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Hayes Chapel Cemetery in Mercer, TN.
Pallbearers will be Justin Booker, Stan Knievel, Andrew Nipp, Landon Nipp, Tim Nipp, and Luke Sanderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Booker, Chris Coughlin, Aaron Nipp and Austin Nipp.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
