Randy Homer Honey

June 29, 1949 — July 10, 2022

Randy Homer Honey entered his heavenly home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at AHC Healthcare of McKenzie, TN at the age of 73.

Randy was born to Homer and Lena Honey on June 29, 1949, in Clermont
Florida. He graduated from Clermont High School in 1967, where he was very involved in
multiple sports teams. He joined the US Air Force in 1968 and served as an airplane mechanic
until his honorable discharge in 1972. He loved his country, and he loved the opportunity he had
to serve it. After discharge, he started his lengthy career in the steel industry, starting off as a steel
erector with Konsler Steel in Clermont, Florida. He then moved to Tennessee and started
working as a project manager at Ryan Steel in Memphis, TN. He then transferred jobs to
Williams Steel in Jackson, TN in the 1980’s where he was a project manager until 1997. He
then ventured out and started his own steel erection business, which he continued until his
retirement at age 70.

His loves in life were the Lord, his wife, Shirley Gail Honey, his kids, and grandkids and great
grandkids, and we can’t forget Florida Gator football. If he wasn’t cheering them on, he was
with his family and would prefer they were with him while he cheered. He was a joyful person,
always had a huge smile and loved people. Anyone who was around him for any length of time
couldn’t help but be warmed by his light and his laughter. His quick wit was unprecedented and
his deep love for his wife was unquestioning. “Shirley Gail” as he loved to call her, was the love
of his life and she adored him. His kids and grandkids also had a huge part of his heart, as well
as his brother, Tony, his wife Norma, and their kids.

He is preceded in death by his father Homer Ashely Honey, his mother Lena Mary Simmons
Honey, and his granddaughter Shelby Honey. He leaves his wife of 28 years, Shirley Gail
Honey, his son, Christopher Honey of Bend, Oregon, his daughter Christy Ward (Kevin) of
Gardner, Kansas, his daughter Danielle Crowder (Wesley) of Jackson, Tennessee, and brother
Tony Honey (Norma) of Clermont, Florida. He also leaves behind five grandchildren David Honey
(Ashley), Wesley Honey, Summer Ward, Ava, and Jacob Crowder, and seven great grandchildren,
Chandler, Addison, Luke, Silas, Harper, Carter, and Liliana.
