Peggy Griffith passed away on December 28, 2013 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital at the age of 87. She was born on November 30, 1926 in Linden, TN.
Mrs. Griffith was a graduate of Jackson High School and West Tennessee Business College. She worked for many years as a legal secretary and was involved in the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge, TN during WWII. Peggy was active in the community and was the longest-serving volunteer at Gibson County Hospital. Mrs. Griffith also enjoyed crafts and frequently made dolls and other items to give to families in need.
She is survived by four children, Neva Griffith Miller (George Michael) of Bothell, WA, David Griffith of Benbrook, TX, Dean Griffith (Susan) of Huntingdon, TN, and Scott Griffith of Jackson, TN; three grandchildren, Maggie Griffith, Brook Griffith and Evan Miller; and a cousin, Margaret Jane Cantrell of Humboldt, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.R. “Griff” Griffith. Peggy and Griff were married at the First Methodist Church of Jackson on August 28, 1951.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors with a memorial service at a later date.
