Paul Dwayne French, born on October 4, 1946, in Camden, TN, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on March 24, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was known for his contributions to healthcare in his community. He was one of the original team members of Carroll County Hospital, where he played a pivotal role in establishing several essential departments. His dedication continued as he took on the responsibilities of administrator at Carroll County Hospital, Henderson County Hospital, and Henry County Hospital, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Dwayne was a proud graduate of Camden High School, class of 1964, and furthered his education by obtaining a Medical Technologist degree from Southern Academy, a division of Vanderbilt University. His educational journey laid the foundation for a distinguished career marked by a commitment to service and excellence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dwayne cherished his role as a family man. He was deeply passionate about his children and grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Dude." He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Ridley French, and children: Paula French Brewer (Tracy), of Jackson, TN; Brian French of Huntingdon, TN; and Jill French Brigance (Jason), of Martin, TN and Brent Davis (Heather) of Huntingdon, TN. Dwayne's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Austin Brewer Reviere (Grant); Anna Trace Brewer; Carson Brigance; Jillian Brigance; Owen French; Abby Ballard; Cole Ballard; Ava Gordan; and Grant Wilson, as well as his great-grandchild, Eleanor Ruth Reviere. Dwayne is also survived by his brother, Harrell French (Judy) of Springville, TN and a niece, Vicki French of Nashville, TN
In his leisure time, Dwayne's passions were varied and vibrant. He was an avid enthusiast of street rods, demonstrating both creativity and craftsmanship in his woodworking endeavors. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed life by the lake, relishing every moment spent by the water. In his younger years, Dwayne had a particular fondness for the great outdoors, often traveling to Wyoming for memorable hunting trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Luna Berry French, who he remembered with affection throughout his life.
SERVICES: A private family service will be held at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Dwayne's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his community, his family, and the pursuits that brought him joy. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
