Patricia J. Randolph

September 1, 1929 — July 3, 2022

Patricia J. Randolph or “Miss Randolph” as she was affectionately known by most, entered her heavenly home on July 3, 2022, at the age of 92.
She was born on September 1, 1929, in Jackson, TN, the daughter of the late John and Esther Magda Randolph. She attended and graduated from Dominican College in New Orleans, LA and had additional studies at Kent State, Kent, OH. Pat enjoyed a lengthy career as an educator starting at West Jackson Elementary School and later at St. Mary’s School, where she taught fourth grade for over fifty years retiring in 2019. Pat was an incredibly talented Puppeteer and Marionette who enjoyed watching her students grow and learn through her talents. She was also known to many as “Snoopy” as she would wear a full-size Snoopy outfit to many functions at the school. She along with her niece Mary Duke Guldan started the Library at St. Mary’s school furnishing all the books in its beginning. The library was later named in their honor as the Randolph-Guldan Library. Pat had a love for God, her Catholic faith, children, (especially 4th graders) Airedale dogs, flowers, books, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and everything beautiful. She had a gift of seeing God’s beauty in everything, even in the simplest things. She worked tirelessly for St. Mary’s Church and school until her late 80’s. She was known for providing the flowers for the church alter every weekend for many, many years! The patience, joy, generosity, kindness, love, and faithfulness she lived out made a huge impact on every child and family that passed through the doors of St. Mary’s and those throughout our community as well. Her spirit will live on through each life she touched. As she frequently quoted from Dr. Seuss “Don’t cry because it’s over, Smile because it happened!”
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Randolph and her siblings, Jack, Elizabeth, Esther, Edward, Garland, Rosalie, William, Gloria, Mary, David, and Tom.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
