Nancy Dale McAfee December 22, 1935 – March 8, 2025
Nancy Dale McAfee, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2025, in Franklin, Tennessee. Born on December 22, 1935, to Reginald Dale and Willie Catherine Dale in Prentiss, Mississippi, Nancy brought kindness, joy, and warmth to all who knew her.
Nancy’s life was one of dedication, love, and grace. After graduating from Prentiss High School, she pursued her passion for teaching, earning her degree in Elementary Education from Blue Mountain College. She spent her early career as a devoted elementary teacher, instilling a love of learning in her students. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Tennessee during her years there.
Nancy had an exceptional love for music and was known as an excellent pianist. She delighted in sharing her talents and bringing music into the lives of her family. Family was the center of her world; she was a devoted and loving mother to her children—Cathy Maiocco (husband Keith Robinson), Paul McAfee (deceased), Bob McAfee, and David McAfee (wife Maggie McAfee)—and a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren: Caroline Maiocco, Matthew Maiocco, Will McAfee, Abigail McAfee, and Cate McAfee. She created countless joyful memories, ensuring her grandchildren always had fun and felt deeply loved.
Nancy’s life was marked by her thoughtfulness, kindness, and radiant smile that could light up any room. She had a deep love of travel and enjoyed discovering new places, always returning with stories and laughter. She was widely known as the nicest person anyone could ever meet, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William McAfee, and her son, Paul McAfee. She will be deeply missed but remembered with love and gratitude by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 1573 North Highland Avenue, Jackson, Tennessee.
Nancy McAfee’s legacy of love, joy, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
