Nancy Caroline Jarvis, 83, died at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM. She was born January 30, 1928 in High Point, NC, the daughter of the late John and Agnes Willett. Nancy was married to Delevan Jarvis for twenty eight years. She was a homemaker all of her life except for a short time during World War II, when she worked as a telephone operator. Mrs. Jarvis devoted her life to her family and was best known for her quiet but strong spirit. Although battling crippling rheumatoid arthritis for most of her life, she was still able to enjoy traveling with her family, reading, and making beautiful afghans. She was an active member of First Christian Church and loved her church family. Everyone especially little children were drawn to her and her sweet smile.Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by her husband, Delevan Jarvis, her sisters, Mary Willett, Tommye Breznicky and Eva Valencia Willett and brothers, Jack, Bruce and David Willett. She is survived by her three children, Shannon (Ed) Herder, Val (Paul) Egbert and Gil (Barbara) Jarvis, all from Jackson. She also leaves seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Arrington Funeral Directors followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM with Tom Ralstin, Ted Avant and Adam Steele officiating.Pallbearers will be Eric Egbert, Scott Egbert, Steven Gilbreath, Grant Jarvis, Chance Smith and Brent Jarvis.
