Mildred Imogene Hart

August 12, 1937 — February 9, 2023

Imogene Hart, a devoted child of God, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 12, 1937, in Bemis, TN, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Clifton and Lillie Mai Stepp Swift. She was educated in the Bemis schools, and then attended West Tennessee Business College and Jackson State Community College. She was married to Curry Mitchell Hart, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Imogene retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Health as an Administrative Assistant for the Health Care Facilities Division, retiring in 2003 with twenty-two years of service.
Her salvation in Jesus Christ was the center of her life and her daily living was a true example of her faith. Raised in the Bemis Pentecostal Church, she served as the Beginner department secretary, Sunday school secretary and five and one-half years as the church secretary/bookkeeper. In 1978, she became a charter member of Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church, where she served as the office secretary/bookkeeper, Sunday school secretary, and church secretary/treasurer. Imogene loved her family dearly, and they brought her much joy and happiness.
She is survived by her two sons, Barry Hart and wife Tracy of Jackson, TN and Jeff Hart and wife Kim of Thompson Station, TN; four grandchildren, Andy Hart and wife Bekah of Columbia, TN, Lauren Hart and husband Jacob Yates of Spring Hill, TN, and Allie Hart and Caleb Hart of Jackson, TN; two great-grandchildren, Bella Yates and Ellie Rose Hart, and sister-in-law, Glenda Bell and husband Joe of Jackson, TN.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Allen Swift.
SERVICES: A Celebration of Life for Imogene Hart will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 11, 2023, at Lighthouse Church, with Pastor Donald Lance and Pastor David Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Lighthouse Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until the service at 11:00 a.m..
Pallbearers will be Isaiah Johnson, Norman Reid, Ron McKnight, Anthony Stepp, Jay Hampton, and Anthony Dysart.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Lighthouse Church, 1435 Old Humboldt Road, Jackson, TN 38305 or online at www.lighthousejackson.com/giving .
