James Michael DennisonFuneral services for James Michael Dennison, 64, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN with Rev. Chuck Williams officiating, burial to follow on the Dennison Family Farm. Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church.Mike fought a brave battle up to the end with Lou Gehrig?s disease. Mike was born in Jackson, TN on September 18, 1945 the son of the late E.W. and Dorothy Dennison. Mike attended Jackson elementary schools and Jackson High, going on to earn a Bachelor?s of Economics degree from Union University in 1970. During his school years he played Jackson little league baseball and was a golden glove boxer.Mike loved all of God?s nature and animals and had an appreciation for the simple things in life. He always had a smile and a kind word of encouragement to everyone. His most precious times of life were watching, teaching and playing with his three children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his wife, family and friends.Mike was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 50 years. He served as an active deacon, served on the financial committee, was a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, as well as the Faith Sunday School Class. Mike also served in the Lion?s Club.Mike had a career at Owens Corning for 18 years and recently retired from Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital after 20 years of service. No man could have loved his work more. He was dedicated to God, his church and his family. He spent the last 2 years enjoying all that God had made and provided for him.He is survived by his wife of 36 years, best friend and partner in life, Judy Shell Dennison; Three children, Sara and Dan Fuller, Michael and Audra Dennison, Chesley and Jenny Dennison; two grandchildren, Zac and Liza of Jackson, TN. He leaves his loving sister Dorothy Ann Yandell and husband Ric of Jackson, TN; his three brothers, Steve and Amy Dennison of Nashville, TN, E.W. and Tara Dennison of Murray, KY and Philip and Charlotte Dennison of Jackson, TN many nieces and nephews and his church family of Calvary Baptist Church.Pallbearers to serve will be his nephews Lee, Jacob and Derek Yandell, Brian and Caleb Dennison, Jeff Navel and Chris Crenshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class.The family request that memorial contributions be directed to Calvary Baptist Church at 119 Oil Well Rd. and the Star Center of Jackson at 1119 Old Humboldt Rd.
