Melba R Young

March 20, 1934 — April 10, 2018

Melba Ruth “LeCornu” Young, age 83, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Jackson Madison County Hospital. She was born to the parents of Lynn and Ella LeCornu in Greenfield, TN. She was retired from Jackson Energy Authority as the Human Resources Director for twenty years. She also worked with United Way and volunteered in the NAIA Tournament when it was held in Jackson. Mrs. Young was Methodist in faith and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and longtime member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Anderson (Margarita) Young of Jackson, TN, one daughter, Melinda (Scotty) Fortner of Friendship, TN, one sister, Susan Salemme of Tampa, Florida, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Marvin Young, her parents, and her brother, Jerry LeCornu.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Arrington Funeral Directors with Bro. Clyde Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Herman Cemetery in Greenfield, TN.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
