Matthew Lopez Ray departed this life way too soon on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the young age of 23.
Matthew was born to Randy Ray and Stephanie Murphy on July 4, 1999, in Jackson, TN. He grew up in Jackson, TN, along with his brothers and sisters. After high school, he started working as an electrician at Turner Electric and later at Kirkpatrick Homes, Inc. Matthew had a great love for his family and friends. He was always there to help them, as well as others in need. Besides enjoying spending time with his family and friends, he loved working on his Chevy Silverado truck and riding 4wheelers.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Randy Ray; mother, Stephanie Murphy; step-father, Justin Murphy; fiancé, Hanna Barnes; daughter, Phoenyx Anne Lois Ray; brothers, Zackary Lopez and Gauge Bennett; sisters, Dallas Ray and Skylit Ray; two nieces; one nephew; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A funeral service will take place 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
