Martha Ann Ferguson, age 75, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Jackson, TN. Martha Ann was born August 29th, 1949, in Jackson, TN, to the late Margaret Petty King and James Andrew “Buddy” King and spent her whole life in Jackson.
A 1967 graduate of Beech Bluff Hight School, Martha Ann’s first job was working at Bill Hollands’s Bandbox in The Old Hickory Mall.
Martha Ann was a very hard worker and was always dependable. She was a dedicated employee for Bendix Allied Signal Automotive for over 20 years and then Jackson Madison County General Hospital for 17 years before retiring. She continued to work for JMCGH in the ER for several more years until her health deteriorated.
Marth Ann had a big personality, never met a stranger, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son and only child, Jonathon Ferguson, who passed away in 2018.
Martha Ann is survived by three grandchildren, Sam (Chessie) Ferguson, Chris Ferguson and Elly Ferguson, and two great-grandchildren, Hadley June Ferguson and Bowman James Ferguson, a brother, Jamie (Doris Ann) King, nephew Darrell (Tracey) King and niece Leigh Ann (Bill) Espy and four great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Arrington Funeral Home is in charge of the services with Dr. Jerry Welch officiating.
Pallbearers are Sam Ferguson, Will King, Clay Espy, Darrell King, Bill Espy, and Scott Kee.
Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Sisson and Bill Forsythe.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at Arrington Funeral Home. There will be a brief visitation at 1:00 p.m. with the service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jackson, TN.
Memorials can be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Gideons International, or charity of your choice.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to Martha Ann’s neighbors, Scott Kee, Travis and Sherry Crawford, and Janet Gregory for always looking out for her and taking care of whatever she needed. You have truly been a blessing.
