Kay Way, 92, softly entered the arms of Jesus Monday, April 7 at Regional Hospital of Jackson after a brief illness. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, William B. “Bill” Way. She is survived by her son, Bill Way and wife Susan and a daughter, Gail Way Mapes and husband Tom; three brothers, Gene Oliver, Billy Oliver and Herman Oliver; a special niece Charlotte Hill; Three grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Henke, Marcie (David) Woodard and Kristen (Jeff) Mason; Seven great grandchildren Alexis, Brinlea and Grant Woodard, Will and Sam Henke and Sydney and Tyler Mason.
Kay was born and raised in Somerville, TN the daughter of the late Ed and Leona Oliver and moved to Jackson with her family in 1951, where she enjoyed many years serving as a hostess at the Fox and Hut restaurants. She never met a stranger and everyone loved her cheerfulness.
SERVICES: Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Arrington Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
