Mamie Lee David

Mamie Lee David, age 84, died on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Madison County on September 23, 1931 the son of the late C. C. and Louise Harris Stanford. She was retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was married to Wayne David who preceded her in death in 2002. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church of Jackson for over thirty years. She enjoyed Bluegrass music and following the “Wilted Grass” band with her late husband. She enjoyed camping and traveling and being with family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Tippett and husband Robert; sons, Phil David and wife Wendy and Mark David and wife Lisa all of Jackson, TN nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded by two sisters, Dorothy Whitman and Virginia Stanford.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Beech Bluff Cemetery with Dr. Brent Lay officiating.
Pallbearers will be Matthew David, Nathan David, Joseph Vickery, Buddy Carter, Matthew Sipes, Jeff Tippett, Nicholas “Memphis” Brown and Andrew Pollock.
Memorials are to be directed to the American Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
