Luke Nanney

Luke Daniel Nanney, the beloved son of John and Laura Ann Nanney, was born on July 14th, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

 Born at 26 weeks, he weighed only 13.2 ounces and measured 9.5 inches long. His tenacious spirit was apparent from the beginning, and he became known as “feisty and spicy” by those working with him. To his family, he was called Luke the Lion. Despite his small size, he fought mightily for three weeks before leaving this earth for his heavenly home on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

 His parents are John and Laura Ann (Chism) Nanney of Jackson, TN; grandparents Jeff and Camille Nanney of Bells, TN and Earl and Pam Chism of Jackson, TN; great grandparents Ray and Neva Nanney of Bells, TN, Larry and Sarah Kee of Bells, TN, and Barbara Chism of Ridgley, TN; uncles and aunts Ben and Jessica Nanney, Joey and Rachel (Nanney) Gooch, Cody and Hannah Chism, Brad and Mallory Chism; cousins Charlotte, Jake, Liam, Mila, Aspen, Samuel, Lakelyn, James, Cadey, and JD; along with many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents Malcom Chism of Ridgley, TN and Frank and Laura Wilson of Selmer, TN.

 During his short time here, he impacted so many lives and became a beacon of God’s love. His parents and family have felt the immense support of so many people for which they are forever grateful.

SERVICE: A Memorial Celebration of Luke’s Life will be held on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at North Jackson church of Christ, with David Looney and Caleb Colley officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 1:30 p.m.

 The family asks to please wear cheerful, bright colors to celebrate his precious life.
