Louis F. Fullerton, Jr., died on Friday, February 5, 2021 at his Jackson residence.
He was born in the Oakfield Community on April 20, 1932, the son of the late Louis F. Fullerton, Sr. and Nealy Fullerton. Captain Fullerton retired from the Jackson Police Department on April 3, 1998 with over thirty years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Tennessee Law Enforcement Association, Life Member of the Jackson Police Association, and a Life Member of Tennessee Chief Association. He served on the Crime Stoppers board for over eighteen years, and the advisory board for the Salvation Army over thirty years. Louis was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Sudie, to whom he was united in marriage on June 25, 1988; son James L. Fullerton (Terry); grandsons James F. Fullerton (Brandi) and Matthew Fullerton (Erin); one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents James M. and Ida Fullerton and Frank and Bertha Osborne; and two sisters Bessie May Fullerton and Carol Peterson.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2021 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Dr. Jerry Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Oakfield Cemetery with full Police Honors provided by the Jackson Police Department.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be members of the Police Honor Guard.
