Leslee Ann Hallenback, age 59, passed away on Tuesday September 13, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Hicksville, NY. She married the love of her life, Richard, on August 7, 1983. They moved to Tennessee in 1987 to raise their family and to Oklahoma in 2019 to retire with their grandsons.
Leslee joined the Jackson Police Department in April 1988 where she proudly served until retirement as a Sergeant in June 2018. She accomplished much during her career. She was instrumental in starting the Gang Enforcement Team and the Criminal Intelligence Analysts organization, was a founding member of the Crisis Intervention Team, served on the Tennessee Gang Investigators Association board for years as well as received many awards and commendations during career including a Lifesaving Medal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny, and Marie Braceros. She is survived by her husband, Richard Hallenback; her son Ricky Hallenback (Bonnie), daughters Colleen Spencer (Stephan) and Katie Wallace (Steven); her grandsons Jacob and Matthew Spencer, granddaughter Siena Hallenback; her brother Chris (Robbie) as well as many wonderful nephews, nieces, and friends who were family.
Leslee lived fiercely, protected fiercely, and most importantly loved fiercely. She did not know a stranger. Once you were hers, that was it, you were hers. Sunflowers always face to the sun but in darkness, sunflowers turn toward each other for growth and strength… and that is what she did for all of us.
Services will be held September 23, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, TN. Visitation to begin at 10, funeral mass at 11, followed by her burial at Salem Church Cemetery in Gadsden, TN. Flowers can be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
