Kim Denise Preece

November 24, 1958 — August 30, 2022

Kim Denise Preece, 63, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 30th, surrounded by her family. Kim was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and lived there until moving to Jackson, Tennessee in 1998. She began volunteering with the Jackson Humane Society, which began her lifelong love of cats. Kim was a ceramics instructor for the City of Jackson with over 30 years of ceramics experience. She recently became the director of the South Jackson Community Center.

Kim was a member of Love and Truth church for nearly 20 years and was a part of the media team. She made over 50 blood donations to the Red Cross in her lifetime, and was an organ donor. She was an avid collector of teapots and loved any and every kind of tea.

Kim was predeceased by her father, William Edward Cormier, and her mother, Doreen Evelyn Bale. Kim is survived by her husband, GySgt. James C. Preece, USMC; her daughter Katie and son-in-law Derek; her son Chris and daughter-in-law Alanna, her three grandchildren Milo (6) Jude (3) and Ivy (5 months); her sister, Wendy and brother-in-law Roy, her nieces Jennifer and Meagan; her brother, Billy, and her sister, Karen; and her three cats, Snowy, Chloe, and Zoey.
