Katie M. Worley, age 74, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Katie was born in Madison County, TN on October 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Hubert and Maggie Ora Ada Warren. She was retired as a receptionist with West Tennessee Healthcare. She was an active member of Woodland Baptist Church for over forty years. For many of those years she helped prepared the Wednesday night meals, as well as, various other functions throughout the week. She loved to read, but her passion was caring for her family and being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren supporting them in whatever they were active in.
She is survived by her children, Alan Worley and wife Kim of Jackson, TN; daughters, Rita W. McCoy and husband Sam of Jackson and Leigh Ann Carrier and husband Gene of Tucson, AZ; three sisters, Betty Barber of Chicago, IL and Shirley Haws and Brenda Rich both of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren, Kevin Dawson and wife Hannah, Adam McCoy and wife Hollie, Alison McCoy, Cassie Dawson, Drew Worley, Ryleigh Carrier and Abbie Carrier and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Lynn Worley and the father of her children, James Elmer Worley.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 6, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Bro. Len Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Dawson, Drew Worley, Sam McCoy, Gene Carrier, Michael Hahn and Kenny Ganaway.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the National Kidney Foundation of West Tennessee in honor of Ryleigh Carrier, 857 Mt. Moriah Road #201, Memphis, TN 38117.
