Josiah Cooper Turner, age 14, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017.
He was born in Jackson, TN on June 14, 2003, the son of Rodney Turner and Melanie Cooper.
Josiah was a young man that loved football and animals especially his dog Jasper. He was a ninth grader at Early College High School. He was a very passionate individual with a gentle spirit who would help anyone in need especially children and babies. He loved fishing, music and spending time with friends. He loved his family as he was very loyal to his siblings. He was very respected by his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Melanie Cooper Hurst and husband Jerry of Jackson, TN; his father, Rodney Turner of Jackson, TN; his sisters, Lauren Sturgis of Mobile, AL, Ariel Turner of Memphis, TN, Erin Turner and Brennan Hurst of Jackson, TN; his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Pamela Cooper of Henderson, TN; paternal grandmother, Freida Turner of Memphis, TN and a great grandmother, Theresa Langlinais of Henderson, TN.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
The family is requesting memorial contributions to Operation Hope Neighborhood Ministries, 1981 Hollywood Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.
