   Johnnie Pearl Morgan died peacefully on September 29, 2023, in the care of the Bells Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bells, Tennessee at the age of 96.

   She was born on March 11, 1927, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Brodie Alexander and Pearl Elizabeth Hilliard Wilson.

 

   Throughout her career, Johnnie worked as a secretary for many years with McCowatt-Mercer Printing of Jackson, TN. Her commitment to excellence and attention to detail made her an indispensable asset to the company.   She attended Pope Elementary and was a graduate of Northside High School.  She was a life-long member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church of Jackson, where she taught Sunday school and was a constant prayer warrior to many.

   Johnnie found true joy in caring for her family. She had an unwavering love for them and made it her priority to provide them with all the support they needed. Johnnie's passion for cooking brought her great pleasure as she delighted in preparing delicious meals and baked goods for her loved ones. Her family will forever cherish the memories of gathering around the table to share meals filled with love and laughter.

   She also received much satisfaction in sewing and engaging in various crafts. Whether it was creating beautiful quilts or crafting intricate designs, she poured her heart into each project. Her talent and creativity knew no bounds as she transformed ordinary materials into stunning works of art.

   She is survived by her daughter, Jennie DeLoach; granddaughter, Jill DeLoach; grandson, Russell DeLoach and his wife Margaret; granddaughter, Abby Arnold and husband Brian; great-granddaughter, Jordan Painter and husband Ross; great-granddaughter, Megan DeLoach; great-granddaughter, Anna Kate DeLoach; great-granddaughter, Jennamarie Wright; as well as her great-great-grandchildren Ella Kate, Annie Painter, and Adalee DeLoach.  She is also survived by her nephew, Brodie Morgan and wife Paula, a great niece, Karen Scott and husband Clay and a great-great Nephew, Morgan Scott.

   Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Nelson in 2008.

   SERVICES:  A graveside service for Johnnie will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Hollywood Cemetery.

   The family wishes to give a “Special Thanks” to the staff of Bells Nursing and Rehab Center for the care and love they have shown Mrs. Morgan for the past three years.

   Johnnie Pearl Morgan's legacy of love, dedication, and creativity will continue to live on through the cherished memories shared by her family and friends. She will be remembered as a source of unwavering support and a beacon of light for all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
