John Stevens (Steve) Snapp, 81, of Mohawk, went to sleep Friday, December 30, 2016, with his family by his side at Takoma Regional Hospital.
He was a former nursing home and hospital administrator, nurse, and entrepreneur.
Mr. Snapp was saved in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Northside Lions Club in Jackson, Tennessee. He was also a gifted pianist and organist.
He served on the licensing board for hospitals and nursing homes in Tennessee. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, and being on the Tennessee River. He always had a twinkle of mischief in his eye. He loved his family very much.
Survivors include the love of his life, Malissa B. Snapp, whom he was married to for 50 years; children: Timothy Snapp of Johnson City, John C. Snapp and wife, Valeria of Jackson, Tennessee, Scott E. Snapp and wife, Kelly, of League City, Texas, and Melody D. Heyduck and companion, Tim Williams, of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren: Bradford Barham II, Blake Snapp, Morgan Snapp, Steven Snapp, Sarah Heyduck, and Samuel Snapp; three great grandchildren: Matthew Barham, Christopher Barham, and Kai Snapp; sister: Nancy Ooten of Greeneville; one niece: Laurie Hinkle of Kingsport; and several other family members too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Anne Snapp; daughter: Robin Snapp, and her mother, Dorothy Snapp; grandson: Jeremiah Langley; brother: Charles Snapp Jr.; two brothers-in-law: Clarence Holt and Kenneth Ooten; and children: infant twins.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Friday at Arrington Funeral Directors.
