Janice Rogers Hailey, of Jackson, TN, passed away Sunday, July 17th at her home. She was born April 12, 1946 in Milan, TN. Janice recently celebrated her 70th birthday by receiving more than 150 cards, texts, emails, and calls. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Louie Hailey; her three daughters, Tonya Rogers Nicks (Gregg), Tamara Rogers Primeaux (Mike), Tina Rogers Herodes (Frank); Louie’s children, Janet Hailey, Susan McNulty (Sammy), David Hailey (Beth); Grandchildren Kenadee and Corbin Herodes, Mica and Chris Primeaux, Emily and Lauren Hailey, Hallie and Taylor Nicks, Hailey and Matthew McNulty. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Linda Taylor and Barbara Taylor; nieces Belinda Murchison, Wendy Petersen, and Connie Cook; and nephews Richard and Kirk Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nannie Margaret (Peggy) Taylor; father of her children, Jerry Paul Rogers; and his parents, Lula and Paul Rogers; as well as her brothers Ricky and David Taylor.
Janice loved the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church Jackson, TN where she served in many capacities. Janice loved children of all ages. She taught Bible study, volunteered with nursery, children, youth, and other ministries and committees of the church. She also volunteered on over 20 international mission teams to Brazil, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Janice worked many years in accounting including their own business, Rogers Body Shop. She retired from the Jackson Madison County School System, having worked at Pope Elementary.
SERVICES: Visitation for Janice Hailey will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5 - 7 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church Jackson on North Highland Avenue with burial to follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers to serve will be Matt McNulty, Chris Primeaux, Corbin Herodes, Sammy McNulty, David Hailey, Ray Hailey, and Steve Lea.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Fund or Gideon’s International.
