James Sidney Osborne, 85, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Hardin County Medical Center.
He was born in Madison County, TN the son of the late Robert L. and Cordelia Noe Osborne. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Korean Conflicts as a member of the 187 Air-Borne Paratroopers. He received a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts during his service to his country. He was a member of the D.A.V. and a former member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Sidney enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and car races. He was a member of the Enville Baptist Church of Enville, TN.
He is survived by his sons, James S. Osborne, Jr of Stockton, CA and James Donald Osborne of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Ronda Ann Rogers of Jackson and Betty Jean Vestel of San Antonio, TX; a brother Jerry L. Osborne of Saltillo, TN and a sister, Bonnie Faye Moling of Jackson, TN.
He was preceded by two brothers, Robert L. Osborne and Charles J. Osborne and a sister, Hilda Mae Porrier.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Joe Hays officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
