James F. Faulkner, age 85, a beloved member of the community, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Bells Nursing Home. He was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1937, in Madison County, TN, the son of Iverson and Pauline Huckabee Faulkner. James lived a remarkable life filled with dedication, love for his family and friends, and unwavering commitment to his work.
With a career spanning an impressive 43 years at Bellsouth/AT&T, James was known for his exceptional work ethic. He never missed a day due to illness, demonstrating his remarkable commitment and reliability. His colleagues admired him for his strong work ethic and dependability.
James was a deeply religious person. Every day, he and his wife Janice would come together in prayer to express gratitude for their blessings in life. They thanked the Lord for their wonderful family, cherished friends, fulfilling jobs, and the support they received from the community.
Outside of work, James enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. His passion for coon hunting took him all over the United States where he won numerous awards for his skills. Fishing was another hobby that brought him joy and relaxation. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves as was his parents.
James will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iverson Faulkner and Pauline Huckabee Faulkner. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice Faulkner, of Jackson, TN, sons Chris Faulkner and wife Bernadette of Jackson, TN, and Craig Faulkner of Jackson, TN; sisters Earline Raines of Nashville, TN, Patsy Gaw (David) of Nashville, TN, Gale Norris of Hernando, MS, and Betty Yarbro (Steve) of Jackson, TN; brother Robert Faulkner of Henderson, TN; brother-in-law Jimmy Dickey of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law Julie Dickey Gutch (Wayne) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren Jacob Faulkner, Hays Faulkner Flippin, Michael Craig Faulkner, Caroline Faulkner, and Brandon Brummell; great-grandchildren Knox McPherson, Elizabeth McPherson, and Mack Flippin. The joy in his life was being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He excelled as a grandfather and great-grandfather.
SERVICE: To honor James' memory and to celebrate his life of dedication and love towards family and friends, a visitation will take place on his birthday, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, TN, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. This is an opportunity for friends and loved ones to gather and pay their respects to James.
His memorial service will also be held on his birthday, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, TN, at 1:00 PM. During this service, we will come together to celebrate James' life and cherish the memories we shared with him.
James Faulkner was a devoted family man, a dedicated professional, and a cherished member of the community. His unwavering work ethic and his love for his family and friends made him an inspiration to all who knew him. As we mourn his loss, let us remember his kindness, generosity, and the impact he had on all of our lives.
