Don Holmes

Don Holmes, age 76, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Monday, January 20, 2025, at his home in Jackson, TN, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on November 15, 1948, in Martin, TN to the late Ernest and Overne Higgs Holmes. 

Don received his associate degree from West Tennessee Business College, establishing the foundation for a successful career as a staff manager in insurance sales.

Don married the love of his life Pam Davis Holmes, and they have been married for 52 years. He was known for his unwavering faithfulness to the Lord, his family, and his career. His warm, nurturing personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was the best husband, daddy, and grandaddy, and his girls were his world. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing golf, and followed the University of Tennessee sports passionately. He loved supporting and cheering on his grandkids and family. Don found his greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones.

Throughout his life, Don worshiped at North Jackson Church of Christ and Spring Creek Church of Christ, where he found community and connection. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he shared that spirit with those around him.

 Don is remembered fondly by his wife Pam Holmes, and their three daughters: Shelly (and Eddie) Eaton, Dawn (and Chuck) Cooper, and Amber (and Erik) Klein. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Lexa, Kayley, and Makenna Eaton; Kenzie and Korbin Cooper; and Harper Kay and Harley James Klein. He also leaves behind his sister, Brenda Copeland, his niece and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews that he lovingly considered grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend Larry Holmes, and parents Ernest Holmes and Overne Higgs Holmes.

 Don Holmes will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson, TN.

SERVICES: A celebration of Don's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson, TN, with Eddie Eaton, Chuck Cooper, and Erik Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Jacks Creek, TN, with Lee Johnson and William Glover officiating graveside. 

Pallbearers to serve will be Vance Harper, Kerry Manley, Wayne King, Mike Lyle, Tracy Gollihugh and Elvis Jones.
