Irby "Chip" Inman Graves, Jr. left this world on March 18, 2025, in his hometown of Jackson, Tennessee, where he was born on May 29, 1961. Chip brought joy and laughter into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Chip enjoyed spending his days fishing and golfing. Always cutting up and sharing a joke, he had a gift for making those around him feel at ease and bringing smiles to their faces. His vibrant personality and playful spirit made him a delight to be around, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his friends and family.
He attended Northside Church for several years, until his health would not allow it. It was at Northside Church where he found community and fellowship. His pride in his faith and the connections cultivated there were a testament to his character. He deeply valued the relationships built there and throughout his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, David Tapley (Mary) of Haslet, TX, Donnie Tapley (Mary Jane) of Jackson, TN, Joyce Evans of Jackson, TN, and Debbie Gullett of Lebanon, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irby “Humko” Inman Graves, Sr. and Martha Jane Bumpus Graves.
There will be no services at this time. The family requests that no flowers be sent and instead make a donation to your favorite charity.
He will be missed immensely, but the joy he spread will forever resonate within each of us who had the honor of knowing him.
