Helen H. Newman

Born in Lauderdale County, Tennessee on July 20, 1938, Helen H. Newman died Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Northbrooke Healthcare & Rehab Center in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was married for over 66 years to her husband, Page M. Newman, who survives, residing in Jackson for 49 years. Other survivors are two sons, Rick P. Newman (Kelly) and John W. Newman (Kandy); six grandchildren, Kelli M. Reece (Shane), Kristi N. Land, Branden Newman (Natalja), Brian M. Newman (Andrea), Heather Harrison (John-Mark) and Megan Newman; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine Reed; and three brothers, Robert Jones, Jerry Jones, and Gerald P. Hurst.
Helen was preceded in death by son, Page M. Newman III; parents, Martha Jones and Paul Hurst, Sr.; sister, Geraldine Hurst; and brothers, Paul Hurst, Jr. and Adrian Jones.
Helen was a beautician and owned her own shop for over 15 years. She began helping her husband in his CPA practice in 1968 and worked beside him for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. The Newman’s were very involved in many local philanthropic causes including rescuing animals for many years.
Services: Helen’s funeral service will be held Monday, June 28, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time at 3:00 pm.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to Jackson Animal Care Center, 3 Pinnacle Drive, Jackson, TN 38301.
