Harvey Leon Hurst, 62, of Roanoke, TX passed away on December 25, 2016 after a 15 year battle with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. He was proceeded in death by his father, Harvey Hurst of Anna, TX. He is survived by his mother, Lou Hurst of Anna, TX; his wife of 39 years Sharon Hurst; two daughters, Rachel Powers and son-in-law Shannon Powers, and Emily Bowen and son-in-law Jere Bowen; and two grandchildren Caroline Powers and Ella Powers. His survivors also include one sister Vickie Phillips and brother-in-law David Phillips of Melissa, TX, as well as three nephews Scott Phillips, Brian Phillips, and Mickey Phillips and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Keller. He was a dearly loved son, husband, father, and grandfather and was a beloved friend and co-worker to many. He loved, served, and provided for his family to the very end of his time on this earth. As an employee of Ally Financial in 2016 and previously of TD Auto Finance, he volunteered and served at the Fisher House through several projects. He found great joy in serving his community.
A memorial service was held in Keller, TX for family and friends in Texas. A service of Committal will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 4 at Arrington Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN.
