Harvey Lee Curlin

   Harvey Lee Curlin died peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 86. He was born on June 15, 1937, in Madison County, Tennessee, to Robert Taylor and Evelyn Curlin. Harvey Lee’s larger-than-life personality and infectious smile brightened the lives of those around him. He was loved by all who knew him.

   After an impressive career spanning 33 years with AT&T as Manager of Business – Installation and Repair, Harvey Lee retired with a legacy of hard work and dedication. He was a lifelong farmer who earned the esteemed title of Haywood County Farmer of the Year. He also served as a Board Director of the Madison County Co-Op and Director of the Woodland Cemetery Association in Brownsville, Tennessee. He was a Life Deacon at West Jackson Baptist Church.

   Harvey Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joanne Wilson; his brother, R.E. (Gene) Curlin; and infant son, Lee Taylor Curlin.

   He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty B. Curlin; his 3 daughters who adored him, Gail (Michael) Tansil of Murfreesboro, Mary (Danny) Wallace of Murfreesboro, and Lee Anne (Jerry) Warren of Lebanon; his 5 grandchildren, Claire Tansil, Emilee Tansil, Scott Wallace, Michael (Kelsi) Wallace, and Rob Warren; his 2 great-grandsons, Trent and Cameron; his sister, Carol Mathis of Memphis; his brother, Glenn (Kathy) Curlin of Jackson, and his sister-in-law, Joann Curlin.

   The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Michael Helton and his staff, the staff on 8 West and the Rapid Response Team of Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, and Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.

SERVICE:  Visitation will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W. University Parkway, Jackson, Tennessee, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Harvey Lee’s Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Andy Neely officiating. His burial will be private.
