Harold Davis

Harold Davis peacefully entered his heavenly home on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 86.

He was born on August 30, 1937, in the Frog Jump community in Gibson County, TN, the son of the late Houston and Reba Davis.

Harold led a fulfilling and joyful life. He dedicated over thirty years of his career to Colonial Bread, where he worked diligently until his retirement. After retiring from Colonial, he continued to contribute to the workforce and spent approximately ten years at Camps Grocery. Harold was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities.

In his free time, Harold was an enthusiastic supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He cheered them on with fervor during their games, displaying unwavering loyalty. Alongside his late wife Doris, Harold discovered a passion for traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains. They spent numerous cherished moments together amidst nature's beauty.

During his younger years, he took part in bowling leagues and enjoyed the camaraderie that came from competing with fellow bowlers. The lanes became a place where friendships flourished, and laughter echoed through the air.

Harold's admirable qualities extended beyond his hobbies and interests. He could always be found cheering on his children and grandchildren during their sporting events. His unwavering support brought them endless joy and encouragement.

Above all else, Harold was a devoted follower of God. His faith played an integral role in his life, bringing him peace and guiding him towards a life of service to others. He faithfully served the Lord for most of his life and supported Mercy Ministries of Jackson. The love he had for his Lord was evident in every act of kindness he showed those around him.

He is survived by his two loving sons, Mike Davis and wife Kay of Jackson, TN; and Randy Davis and wife Mary Beth of Jackson, TN; and sister, Diane Hale and husband Richard of Jackson, TN along with his seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Their memories with their father, brother and grandfather will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Mae Davis in 2021.

SERVICES: To honor Harold's life and pay tribute to his memory, funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 29, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until 2:30 p.m. It is a time for family, friends, and loved ones to gather, and celebrate Harold's life, share stories, and find solace in one another.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Jonathan Davis, Zach Davis, Heath Goff, Keath Goff, Brodie Wilson, and Miles Wilson.

Harold Davis was an exceptional individual who touched the lives of many with his kindness, dedication, and zest for life. May the memories of Harold bring comfort during sorrow and may his spirit continue to inspire us all.
